Hi,
Many years ago I used to use a simple Tom Tom app that would keep an eye on my speeding in the car. I could set 3 speed limits for Urban, Dual Carraigeway and Motorway, but they have seemed to have discontinued it.
I have tried numerous ones on the Google Play store, but most of them are a bit flaky or have too much info. I'm testing it on my android phone, but she has a iPhone, so it will have to be available on Google Play and Apple Store.
Its really to put on my daughters phone and all I'm after is a app that will simply bleep loudly at her if she is going over the speed limit on that particular road and it will automatically activate when she enters the car and deactivates when she leaves the car, so it will have to be a app that will need to be paired to her car via Bluetooth to do this.
Sometimes, its so hard just finding something simple, instead of all singing and dancing apps (speed cameras etc etc).
Waze has a speeding option now, but I tried that and it was not suitable, besides she uses Google Maps.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

It's a long time since I used a Toyota Satnav but my Kenwood definitely has that function.

The car does have factory fitted sat Nov, she doesn't use it, but I'll check it to see if it's any good. To be honest, she'll stick with Google maps.

Sorry Fella, I should have looked at your tagline. You'd know all about the facility on the Kenwood! Your daughter might be able to just use the speed indicator facility on her built-in Satnav but continue to use GoogleMaps for navigation via her iPhone? My daughter drives a Ford people carrier ( can't remember the model! ) and despite a high quality built-in Satnav, always uses GoogleMaps. I wonder if it's a female thing?

So why not simply use the speed alerts available on Google maps? The map shows the speed limit and that then turns 'red' if the GPS measured speed exceeds that limit. OK, I don't think that it 'beeps' but it's a built-in function of the application that she uses ...

I use Google maps all the time and the speed indicator is not always there !
Or maybe it's just me, I'll check it again.
I've just been round the block using the Aygo's built in sat nav, and I was surprised that it's pretty good. It has a speed indicator which goes ted6 if you go over and it has speed cameras and it picked up the crappy one in my village.

I thonk you can set the Toyota sat nav can alert you if you go over the speed limit (somewhere in the settings), though not sure how strong is the 'beep'.

By using an App on a phone could a speed cop in a bad mood accuse her/anyone of playing with their phone whilst driving? OR perhaps she could just keep an eye on the speedo?

I'm all for the old fashioned way of being alert and using your eyes, but people are just different nowadays !!!
The good thing is before she sets off on a journey, she plugs her phone in for charging and Spotify and Google maps and tucks it away out of sight 👍

FFS - Is there anything people can actually do without a telephone these days Seems unprotected sex is still on the list looking at the STD & unwanted pregnancy numbers, but maybe because the phone doesn't remind them they don't realise
