Yes quility product 👍🏻👍🏻 Oddly the cheapest I could buy it was on line from the battery shop 😎 I hope the CRV's battery is okay when I test it but I have had a quick look online and the Yuasa 5000 battery for it at the Battery Shop is about half the price a well known high street store is charging (no pun). So thanks for the heads up Bob. The warrenty could be an issue if it had to go back but as it’s a well respected product I’m not over concerned 👍🏻

Had a few hours to spare this morning so got on with some polishing , headlamps first with G3 then added the Maguires sealer (cheers Kev 👍🏻), then had a tinker with the rocker cover again then the manifold heat shield. Done as good a job as the old metal will allow me to do....pleased with what I’ve done 😎

Nice work Bob :TU: Is there any mileage in painting the heat shield with a heat proof silver paint or is it likely to just flake off?

Nice work Bob Is there any mileage in painting the heat shield with a heat proof silver paint or is it likely to just flake off? I could take it off and paint it...did look at the bolts but could be a challenge for their age...and painting on car would look bloody awful 🙄. I’ve made a rod for my back now I’ve started the polishing but it’s something I enjoy ....so what the hell ! 😉😉

Purchased a few parts for the RAV4, Gates multi V belt and a pair of KYB rear shocks. Have no history for the belt but as they are cheap as chips for a Gates Quality brand, it’s worth replacing it for reliability. As to the shock absorbers... although it might be manufacturers sales talk shocks should be replaced after 3-5 years of average mileage, yet Toyota shocks seem to go on forever ...price on eBay was good then a discount code popped up and the Price became embarrassingly cheap so had to have them 😎

Many thanks ..yes it’s in very good original condition, the RAV4 specialist I bought it from charges a bit more but you get an excellent vehicle. ive not polished the RAV4 yet..I’m building upto that as I know by the next morning it will be dusty again. 😉

Replaced the multi-vee belt today ...put up a bit of a fight as the only bar and socket combination I had that would fit I struggled to get the tension off. Seemed easier when I’ve done it on my blue Rav4 maybe I’m getting older ! Opened the gloss black paint and done what I could in the time I had ...... very therapeutic 😎😎

😉 Not painted the front shocks absorber as still deciding if to replace them or not 🤔 have a pair of KYB’s for the rear so will probably look for the same brand for the front at some point 👍🏻

Set about painting rear suspension and driveshafts this morning plus fitted KYB shock absorbers .... It’s really not in bad condition for its age 😎
