Ok, my daughter has gone to meet her friends in her Aygo. They form a circle with all the rear of the cars pointing inwards and all sit in their boots and chat(maintaining social distancing).
Before my daughter left, I told her to make sure the interior light and the inside boot courtesy lights are off. She has switched the courtesy light inside the car off, but has sent me a photo and the light in the boot is still on and there is no on off switch like most cars !!!
Can this be turned off without popping it out and taking the bulb out ?
I guess I may get a call in a couple of hours with a car with a flat battery !!

Due to the fact that they are all keeping their social distancing, I don't mind.
What I have seen on the occasions I have been out and about, you'd think Covid-19 never happened......end result, localised lockdown like Leicester !!!

I'd be very interested in a photo of the arrangement - just to prove to some other crotchety old devils that not all youngsters are ignoring the rules!

If the boot light stays on are the passenger doors shut? If so, there must be a plunger switch somewhere around the boot opening - unless there is one in the catch mechanism?

She says the main courtesy light is switched off and stays off when she opens any the main doors. So that's fine, like all cars !!! The boot light stays on no matter what. To be honest, I don't know if it has a plunger type mechanism, doubt it, the whole boot lid is glass...I'll check when she gets back or when I go out to jump start the car . This is a top of the range Aygo as well, it's even got push start and keyless entry and no switch on the boot courtesy light !!!

Some interior lamps will time out, if the relevant door is left open for a set period, if they are connected through the body controller. I'm fairly certain the RAV cabin interior lamp will time out in "door" position after about half an hour, but not the boot or the map lamps. Don't know about the Aygo boot, but it's a possibility.......That might be why there's no switch. Or it's just dumb or a cost down.
There surely has to be a boot switch plunger somewhere.

Just heard from my daughter, the light is now out and the car still starts, so I assume it has a time out function Thanks
