Over the months, I have spent a fair bit doing up my double garage, was built in the 70s, so a PROPER sized double garage. Had the flat roof redone with top quality dpm, guaranteed for 20 years (hmmm, not sure about that !!).
Had a new rear door installed, insulated the underside of the ceiling, new lighting daylight lighting on all four walls and a couple in between, I've always had the electric up and over door. Great wall heater, specifically for home garages.
To be honest, it's so good, I'm thinking of moving in. It's roughly 18ft X 17ft.
Only thing left which lets it down is the concrete floor.
I have painted it in the past, but not doing that again, too expensive and doesn't last long.
So, I'm thinking of thick floor matting rolls. Found some on eBay, 12mm thick and the seller reckons it will do the job for a household garage, were I just drive the cars in and out a few times a week.
Surprisingly not the expensive.
Any thoughts on this guys ?

I did mine up about 3 years ago and bit the bullet with the proper tiles for the garage floor. If you want flooring and want it to stay looking reasonable, I don't think it's worth messing about with anything else.

My double garage is mainly a workshop but still we put the Rav in there from time to time. I used to have the 12mm thick foam floor tiles but the Rav used to just catch them where I worked and eventually screwed them up. Then I was told about another tile which could be driven on by a fellow woodturner so went and had a look at his and thought they'd be ideal so invested in them. Not cheap but they do work. At the moment I can't find the company I got them from but when I do i'll post a link :TU:

I've spent the last 2 days putting lighting in mum's garage.
When I scrapped the Rav4 i removed the 32" led light bar. That's now bolted to garage roof steel bars.
I needed 12v to make the light work , so I utilised the battery from our hedge trimmer ! The battery slides onto the hedge trimmer so two spade terminals slide neatly into the + and - terminals of the battery.
The battery just sits on a small shelf at the side of the garage.
I then ran two wires to the light... bingo it works.
Then I thought, how can I make it light up when you open the up and over door ?
So I fixed two contacts on the hinge of the door and ran a wire to each side of the contact.
When you lift the door , contact is made - light comes on etc etc.
When trimmer battery dies , we recharge... simples.
Works well , but the wiring is very heath Robinson. But... it works. One garage lit by 32" led light bar!

THIS is the company I used. My garage floor was a tampered finish so not exactly smooth flat but these tiles have kept down well :TU:
