What would you buy ?
It would be used for 5 mile commute to work and shooting (so must be AWD as will go offroad).
My 4.2 is coming to the end of its economical life, still going but lacks power and costs at each MOT.
Not sure if i want petrol or diesel, but the short trips push me to consider petrol. Are all AWD ravs diesel ?
Would like a decent spec. It will be kept for a good 5 years.
Love to hear from everyones experience what they would buy.
keep safe.

As far as I am aware, all the petrol engined RAVs are AWD, and most are auto. I would be looking for an AWD, petrol, auto. A squint at Autotrader suggests that your budget would get a late 4.3. A good 4.4 would probably cost a little more ... unless, of course, it was a diesel - but then you probably aren't doing the mileage to make good use of a diesel.

Very few petrol autos to choose from..guess it’s supply and demand...although that south London dealer takes the p1ss on pricing 🙄

If it's only 5 miles commute, how far do you travel to go shooting, is there hybrid or electric option, or are they still over £12K

no more than 10 miles to go shooting. i have always wondered about some form of hybrid but am concerned about the condition/longevity of the batteries in that age of car. maybe i dont understand it fully and someone could enlighten me on the technology further. as you say cost will probably take it out of the equation.

That's a Mk1 so better reliability and build than the later ones that have been infected with lots of Regie bits that have destroyed Nissan's reputation in recent years.
