First review I’ve seen for the new defender the other previous ones were just a static walk around. Guy doing the review is an acquired taste but tells you all the facts ...

Autocar has a full test in today's edition by Matt Prior but I really can't be bothered to read it.

There’s no doubt that they are the most capable off roaders in the world but they have an adverse unbreakable record too. If they could get the reliability right they’d mop the floor with the competition.

There’s no doubt that they are the most capable off roaders in the world but they have an adverse unbreakable record too. If they could get the reliability right they’d mop the floor with the competition. If Toyota, MMC, MB, etc can produce reliable off-roaders there's no reason why JLR can't. However I reckon that JLR have reconciled themselves to selling to people who only care about having the "right" badge on the driveway or the office carpark, who don't have to finance the cars themselves or can "hire" them on a PCP and whose adventures off-road are limited to parking in a field at Tarquin's gymkhana. Consequently they can get away with charging over the odds for a vastly inferior vehicle. Nice place to sit while you wait for the RAC though.👍

It's a great looking vehicle, but far to complex for what it needs to be.

I quite like Mat Watson's carwow reviews tbh.
New defender looks great, but for some reason I just don't like spare wheels hanging off the back door.
