Looks good and price is very reasonable; I'm surprised they are not asking more, especially as it is at a dealer. I suspect that if it was at West Country Value Cars the price would be higher. Mind you, the MoT history isn't great and doesn't show that the car has been particularly well looked after, so maybe it isn't as good as it seems?. Only thing to watch out for is the dreaded autobox ECU problem, if it hasn't already been re-flashed. It also demonstrates one of my pet hates: the FSH that isn't. The car is 18 years old and has 12 services recorded, so it hasn't been serviced every year in accordance with Toyota's schedule. I'll get my anorak now.......

I see it so often I actually begin to wonder if anyone other than me actually keeps to the service intervals! Even with cars still under warranty, services are skipped which seems very odd to me. I can understand it more when the car is very old, worth little, and is doing very low annual mileages but even then I would have an oil and filter change plus general check of things each year.

Agree completely, David. If the oil & filter at the very least are not done annually you really have to question just how well even a one-owner car has been looked after. But whilst the dealers make a big deal about one-owner cars, as if that is some indication of careful ownership, a look at the MoT history of some one-owner cars shows some pretty awful fails/advisories.
On this one in particular there are alot of advisories, some for corrosion, chassis issues (corrosion?), others for brake system issues, power steering hydraulic leaks, etc. I guess there are a lot of folk who see their car as akin to white goods and therefore just leave problems until the MoT and then get them dealt with using the fails/advisories as the repair order to the garage. It's not the way I would look after my vehicles; it's sloppy and careless. They get away with it because how many buyers would bother to check the MoT history or question why there are so relatively few stamps in the service book?

Corrosion issues due to the car spending it's life in Blackpool ? Maybe, Jase. The 4.2 is pretty good, rust-wise. Could be that the owner just didn't care enough to hose the underbody whenever the car was washed.

When I was shopping around for the Aygo for my daughter, I went to one that was for sale at a non Toyota dealer. It was a one owner from new car and was only 4 years old. So they bought this brand new and did not get it serviced once in the four years they had it. It had 30k on the clock and the service book was completely blank, but some people think, if you don't do the miles, no need for a service...sorry, but I don't agree.
Even the Rav I have, which I have had since it was just under two years old and I still have it, it has religiously has the correct service at the correct time at a Toyota dealer.

Looks great other than as you say Chinese ditch finders and the headlamps are going yellow along the top edge . Yea, you're right, Bob, missed that. But not too bad, might polish up OK with the right kit.
I'd also like to see just how "full" that FSH is.....
