Better choice at your local Mr T than mine. They have a few, however, buying private gets me so much more car for the money. If I do go private, I'm going for a FTSH and no MOT advisories, being a Toyota, I should be pretty safe 🙄

Things like discoloured lenses or the odd low tyre tread shouldn't put you off if everything else about the car is genuine.

Youngest daughter has a 2015 Aygo that came with two keys, and we was sat in the dealers once waiting for the Rav to pass it's MOT when an old dear asked about a replacement key for her Aygo and if I remember right the price from Toyota was £350 that was a few years ago now.

Went to view and test drive another Aygo at a dealer in London, not Toyota, 2015 with 40k miles, one owner and full service history (half Toyota).
Great wee car, but I wasn't impressed with the manual gearbox.
It wasn't as smooth as I'd expect.
Are Aygos generally like this ?
Going back tomorrow for a second drive and view, so any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

Both of my daughter's Aygos had OK shifts and I have had a couple of them as courtesy cars in the past on which the gear change has been alright. I mean, they ain't in the same league as Ford's legendary single-rail box (what is?) but they're not bad.

I should also mention, they had another manual Aygo, 2016 model, I asked to drive that to compare gearboxes, it was the same, hence me asking, are Aygos just like this ?

Without putting too fine a point on it, it really depends on what you want from the box, Bobby. The Aygo is like any little city car in that it is built to be practical, easy to drive, easy to park and cheap to run. Mostly though cheap to buy so they can sell more than the competition. It won't have the nth degree of refinement that you will get in a BMW, etc. But at the end of the day it's very subjective. What someone else thinks is great, you or I might consider mediocre. I have always found the Aygo pretty good and the box has been as good as any. In passing I would also say that although a lot of road testers have slagged it off, the Aygo's MMT box was pretty good. Our oldest girl had a 10-reg from new for 3 years and it never put a foot (or wheel) wrong.

Thanks for that. The car my daughter is moving from is a Ford Ka 2004 and the box on that is FAR better.
Maybe my expectations are just to high.
It just loose and rattly on both the Aygos I have driven.
I'm going to be cheeky and pop up to my local Toyota dealer in the motning and ask to sit in one they have for sale and have a feel of the gearbox. If it's the same, then I'll accept it, but I just need to be sure, I'm not buying a bag of spanners.
I've paid a refundable deposit and I'm supposed to collect it tomorrow afternoon.

It's been a few years since I drove an Aygo. I had a 61 plate from new and enjoyed driving it - not outright fast but could be hassled along roads quite effectively. From what I can remember it had quite a raspy sound from the exhaust and needed quite a lot of revs due to only having a 3 cylinder engine. My wife and youngest son both disliked it due to the clutch making pulling away in first a bit tricky. My eldest daughter loves her Aygo. If they did one with a torque converter auto I would buy one as a run around. I think people either love or hate them so an extended test drive by the potential owner is wise.

Viewed again, test drive again, purchased and sitting in my drive.
The drive home from London has shed a different light on this wee car and I'm happy with it and hopefully my daughter will also.
Added bonus that was not mentioned in the add, is that it has keyless entry and push start button (with two keys) and the head unit has reverse camera AND full sat nav (not that she will use it, as she uses Google maps). Some previous owner coughed up the extra cash for this, along with the front fog lights, as these are not standard on the x-pression model I think!!
Body work faultless, not even a stone chip.
So hopefully a good find.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Glad you got it sorted out, Bobby. Sounds like you have got a good one.
The girls seem to go for the Aygo/107/C1 particularly. When our daughter was looking to replace her written off Aygo last month, she tried a Mazda CX3 and a Mini Countryman. Although she liked both and could afford them, she preferred another Aygo. She gives her cars names and treats them like her horses! Good luck to your lass with the new car :TU:
