These are the fuel filler pipes Bob was referring to. Thanks. I'll check that out. However, the MOT history mentions as an advisory in 2017 that the "offside front brake pipe slightly corroded" Is this the same pipe? No..the mot tester is referring to the metal brakes pipe that the hydraulic fluid runs through, give them a clean with a wire brush and paint them black 👍🏻

Hi, the TTE alloys on the Granite edition use a tapered wheel but, not the usual Rav4 flat nut with captive washer. M12 x 1.5 Just found that out today whilst doing brakes on my one. Wouldn’t do any harm to check and clean brakes all round too. I’ve spent today refreshing brakes and replacing the the sliding pins and sleeves front and back with silicone grease. The rear sleeves on the rear calipers were seized completely and as a result no pad left on the inside. You can get the brake caliper service bits on eBay for much cheapness. Plus makes sure the sliding pin rubbbers are sealed in place properly too. Keeping these bits clean can make a difference between okay brakes and like new brakes.

Got me worried Aaron min......I have tons of spare wheel nuts for both Ravs, one of which you now have. NONE of these are tapered that Inhave here......please tell me I hadn’t fitted TAPERED seats with FLAT washer nuts.....? Had noticed some squeaking in reverse from rear brakes though.....you just cured that.

Looks Nice. good advice on the replace rivits on the caps bit. I did that to all of mine after I lost the first one when only 2 years old (Got Toyota to provide a free replacement although they didn't really want to ) Personally, I think the tubes look nice than the steps, contrary to BigKev's opinion Trying to think if I have any old tat for the RAV4.2.5 in the shed (I'm about a 20 minute drive from Galashiels) I wonder if the Airbag recall has been done yet? (I bought my last 4.2.5 and sold it again all while waiting for a timeslot for my Airbag!)

I do like the look of the rock bars but the side steps have a very practical advantage (other than as a step, that is) in that they are very effective in keeping road grit and slime off the bottom of the doors and the sills. There's a Polish company that supplies new pattern ones for the 4.2 but I can't convince MBH to have them...
I reckon our 3-dr had its recall done before we bought it as there is nothing flagged up on the DVLA site.

Didn't know anything about this? Just looked it up and sure enough RAV4 2004-2005 is on the list. How would i know it's been done? (Just discoivered the Toyota recall site and checked my VIN and Reg number and it seems mine is OK and has no recall issues)

Bit late posting this update but I got my RAV4 3 door now. Picked her up the other week from Scotland. Better posting now cause I’ve had a chance to get to know it better.
Well it’s very solid, no rattles or squeaks, nothings falling off and everything works. Cigar lighter didn’t but that was just the fuse. Front interior light works via the switch but not via the door, I’m guessing it’s not supposed to right? One side bar end was missing but I got a spare one from ‘jasehutch’. I’ll fit them proper good later.
It’s taken two weeks to get to grips with the clutch and throttle which is almost unknown for me. Usually half an hour in anything and I’m fine but the clutch has a short ‘biting/release point’ and the throttle from tickover comes in sharp, a bit like a switch. In fact it’s a bit like a few motorbikes I’ve had where it’s not uncommon to find the fuel injection at very low revs to be shite. It ain’t too bad now but I thought for a bit this would be a proper problem.
All five Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres are new and grip like f***, compared to my Transit connect van anyway. They’re 10” wide, is this the normal tyre width for the 3 door? I pressed the CD button on the drive down from Scotland, and found out the previous owner was a Status Quo fan, couldn’t work out where the CDs were. Discovered the 6 x CD holder under the seat about a week later. Shame I chucked all my CDs out about a year ago. I’ll have to make a few up.
Oh yeah, had a slight vibration and thought it seemed like the wheels/tyres which it was. They obviously weren't balanced when fitted but are now and it's all very smooth.
Anyway. I’ll prob’ have a few more queries later. Any other useful info’ for me, let me know.
Cheers.

Standard Granite tyres are 235.55.17, so your 10” tyres must be 255.....? Those Scorpion tyres are noisy but if that doesn’t bother ye, fill yer boots. Internal REAR light only comes on via door switch.....effing daft in my opinion.

Tyres: I measured the width out of curiosity and it was 250mm wall to wall outside. One of the wheels was in a shite condition so I had a wheel renovation company just round the corner from me refurbish it, and it looks the dog's danglies now, but this is the tyre when it was removed from the rim. Obviously a standard size.

How many Cats & Sensors are there on the 3 door? I know the big Cat at front of the engine but is that a cat midway down the underside of the long length of exhaust or just a bit of a muffler. Are there just the 2 sensors at the front, I know some have 4.
