Full nomenclature Rav4.2.5 Granite. Bullet proof engine and gearbox. Welcome abroad. Cracking wee car. Search out recent posts by me selling wan. That's good to know. I assume the RAV4 '2' means series 2. What's the '5' stand for? I'm in Watford but I'm collectinh her from Scotland! I'll have a nice long drive back down with maybe a detour or two.

That’s nice it’s a granite ? First job....the chrome side bars the rivets on the black plastic end caps rot away and you loose the cap 🙄 drill out and put bigger rivets in ASAP to save the ones you have left 👍🏻👍🏻 Toyota use to sell them as a separate part but sadly no longer available 😕 So they're Toyota side bars then? I'll put a couple of wide flange rivets in each one.

Galashiels. I try to come up to Scotland whenever I can. I do a bit of photography and can't think of anywhere better. Why can't it be nearer?

Here's a question that should maybe go into the technical section but as it's a real easy one here goes........ What size wheel nuts are on the wheels? I'm not sure if the alloys on the car have locking nuts but I'll def' need to get some if not, inc' one for the spare.

Bigkev had a Granite so might be able to advise but if you can get a wheel nut off and post up a photo , we can see if it’s taper seat or flat washer type 👍🏻

Galashiels. I try to come up to Scotland whenever I can. I do a bit of photography and can't think of anywhere better. Why can't it be nearer? Great part of the country, Gala, but your FIRST job will be to have the underside well and truly pressure washed. When its clean, huv a wee keek at the fuel filler pipe, removing its cover to do so. The Borders mud may well be in there chewing Friar Tuck oot the metal down pipe......clean meticulousfully and get it sealeded. Yer a lucky man we have Oor Jase the Hoarderiser.......those end caps are as rare as finding nice people in That London. Ignore all other advice.....drill oot them poppity rivets holding the end caps on, and consult Davrav on here re. the best masticated glue to STICK them back on. Start looking now too furra driver’s side sun visor......it may be weak and/or not springing back up alreadeez. Personfully, I would change out the side TUBES for a pair of side STEPS......look better in my opinion and save lotsa crud getting to cling to doors......Jase will argue, but he’s English with a reputation for violins. Check operation of Radio/CD Player......if any faults got wan here in the Arctic, fooly workful.

As Jase now knows, having fainted at my original suggestment......BRAND NEW BLIDDY BRILLO PAD, wan forceach tube if need be. The pink soap is the lubricant key......thesecare high grade stainless steel, same maker as those alloys, Ronal, and the tubes areca VERY saleable commodity I found, but OEM 3 DOOR steps are very hard to find. I huv spoked.

Cheers for all the info'
Fuel filler pipe? In the engine compartment or on the underside? I did ask if there was any significant rust underneath and was told no. The seller has taken the vehicle in and sold it on twice so is familiar with it.
I do intend to have it blasted underneath and apply some sort of protection. What's recomended?
