i broke a retaining clip thats part of the front bumper what glue would be best to fix this,,the clip is rectangle and split.any ideas what to do?

Really depends upon whether it is load-bearing or tensioned. If either of these and it is plastic then I would agree with Dave and get a new one. The fact that you want to strengthen the repair suggests that a new one would be best 👍.

If it is plastic on plastic then Halfords sell a plastic bumper repair kit a bit like Isopon. I have used it in the past and it was very good and effected a solid repair.

Purely a guess but, from memory, is it the 'channel' on the wing where the bumper slots into under the headlight?
