Tuning boxes IMO are better than remapping. You can remove the alterations at any time and sell the box if you part with the car. Many flash over recaps are bloody awful. The is nothing like a live map done on a dyno.
Quality box for me every time.
Has anyone got a Lindop box on a 4.4 ?? I would be interested in knowing the results. 👍👍

I would never come away from a remap without reversing/reverting software on a disc though......

The Denso ECU of the 4.3 was renowned as being unbreakable, Martin......anybody got an update into 4.4.....?

I had a bluefin tuning box on a Kuga many years ago. No issues. But tbh it didn't really feel like it made any difference. It was only a few hundred quid. The RaceChip boxes for the JLR stuff are nearer 500 if you want the ability to fine tune. That's an ok price IMO, a remap is much the same, but not if again there is no real noticeable difference.
An APR tune at ecotech transforms the VAG stuff. My brother's golf R is a missile with their stage 1 setup and has been for nearly 3 years now. My best mates GTi is much the same.
Our CX-5 is remapped and drives so much better. Lovely and torquie throughout the rev range and pulls hard from low down in every gear.
Asking the same question elsewhere, so be interested to see the feedback.
