There are a fair few sports cars drivers on the site so do you guys any recommendations for a set of performance tyres for my Lexus, size 245-40-18 noticed some cracks on the treads the other day , might not be a major problem but better to be safe than sorry . What have you fitted or do have fitted to your cars ? Tyre is dated 2014 and has 6mm of tread still and had no issues last year seem to have come on very quick , so maybe the rubber is going off hard . Top photo last summer with no cracks!

Don’s gonnae faint here, Boab......bear wiffmy.......take it to a Kwik Fit and ask if there are any recalls on these Dunlops. They will not come forward willingfully, but when they see somebody auld and withered like you they may help. Wife’s Goodyear tyres were aw cracked like that at 40% worn on a Ford Siesta.......she got a new set half price as they had a fault admitted to.

Tyres just should NOT do that imho, Bob. The guy who bought the Jag XE ffs.......I would NEVER have taken a car with that tread depth and feathering away from a retailer in the furst place....! What an absolute male appendage.....!

Vredestien ultrac satin..... Stunning grip with a nice quiet supple ride.
I have them on the MX5 and they are excellent. Not expensive either.

Have a look at Michelin Pilot sport 4 Bob - quiet, grippy and good durability :TU:

Got 'em on my RAV - brilliant in the summer with excellent wet grip, but I don't fancy them on an icy road! Bob asked for performance tyres so ice may not be his main consideration...... I read the reviews on these tyres carefully as it’s said the MX5 requires very good tyres and importantly a matching set. The price was more than competitive and I’ve always had excellent results with Vredestien tyres. Dry grip is phenomenal. Wet grip I haven’t tried that hard but they seem excellent in the real world. Noise levels are low and the ride quality is just fabulous. Mileage ? I haven’t even clocked up 400 miles in that car yet so I haven’t a clue. 👍👍👍

Have a few tyres on my short list only working from reviews but the Vredestien is up there with the best of them 👍🏻
