Well , here's my Yaris with new Thule roof rack and bike on top. The roof rack weighs about 5kg , and each bike rack is around 5kg. And... yes , you can tell it's up there when driving - brings down the Hybrid mpg by a few miles. On average I'm doing 60mpg , if I drive very conservatively I can get up to 75mpg at 30mph with cruise on. On electric.... for about half a mile , 99mpg 🤣😂

There is a financial logic to buying a smaller car and putting the bikes on the roof...over buying a Rav4 and putting the bikes in the back 🤔...just not sure what the price difference was ?

As a commuter car, the Yaris will make much more sense than a RAV4.

The Yaris is serving a purpose at the moment. It's nothing more than completely reliable transprt. And if it does go wrong, Toyota fix it on guarantee.
The bike rack allows just that, to get my bike to where I want to take it. But, no bad dirt tracks anymore... just the nearest layby.
It's also saving me around half what the fuel cost of the Rav4.
May be even less. That c v t gearbox is doing it's job. Constantly gearing itself to max fuel efficiency.

It's super modern , and the blue colour just makes me smile. It really is a pleasure to drive. Very quiet too , mum can't get used to the silence he he. I miss sitting higher, but that's about it. And I really enjoy it... when it gleams , that blue is stunning.

As long as you're happy, Jamie, that's all that matters.
I can't help feeling though that you will have a RAV again...........

I can't help feeling though that you will have a RAV again........... Thank you so much jim, after the grief & stress I felt the 4.3 this is pure pleasure. It's strange, it may sound wierd - but I just love colour ! Silver cars just seem..... dull. Whilst the 4.3 was the tough car, and as much as I polished it. It just didn't gleam ?1 If only..... if only, they made a Rav4 in nebula blue... yes yes yes 😊 But... I am looking for a 4.2 petrol 3dr, low ish miles. Possibly for winter , and hopfully under £1k. And it must be.... blue.😂

As far as I know, the 4.2 came in a metallic blue similar to your Yaris with silver/grey wheel arch trims, bumpers and door rubbing panels. You will just need to keep an eye on Autotrader until the right one turns up. Good luck 👍.
