Not sure if this is an indication of something starting to fail or wear out, or just the way it is ....
When I use my Jigsaw, it often starts to really "jump" like the blade is jamming up and the base plate bounces up and down. Now I am wondering if this is something wearing out rather than my usage of it as it is happening when cutting any product (had it on Plywood, Aluminium, MDF and Pine 2x2) and with all blades (including brand new ones). The jigsaw is a Bosch 650W one and I think I bought it back in 1998 so it is fairly old I guess but doesn't look too beaten up mind.
Is this par for the course? I just don't recall getting this problem more than very occasionally on the past but now it happens repeatedly on every cut and is starting to get very annoying! I'll probably change to the Ryobi One+ Cordless if I have to replace.

Blade slightly out of line ? Blade bent ? Even slightly .... Wrong blade ? I find multi purpose blades are not good. For wood use a wood blade and so on.
9 times out of 10 it’s the blade that is the problem.

Used a standard upcut metal blade today and the saw mostly behaved itself. I think the saw is getting a bit worn out and and the downcut blades are exposing that much more, so will stick to standard upcut ones on this jigsaw.

Aye if it’s worn the blades might pull and or lean causing it to jump.
