Not in my Rav, but I was messing about in my daughter's Ford KA and I managed to knock the connector wire off the rear screen, it's just a piece of wire with two metal type pads.
What's the easiest and cheapest way to fix this (solder?), Bearing in mind, I don't have one 😁
Thanks

If it is the window side solder might not work! You might need 'silver loaded epoxy ' glue (not cheap!). There might not be anywhere to solder to, as it is conductive strips on the window, not enough to solder.

She's out in the car at the moment, I'll take a wee photo and get your opinions.
It's not going to be a issue until the winter months, but I'd rather do it in the summer, than a chilly dark winter's night !!

Sorry, I can't upload a photo. Tried using the info in the forum how to section.
I was even going to just change my avatar photo and put it there, but I can't even do that simple task !!!

Hi Bobby , are you clicking on the green reply tab ? If you simply post in the quick reply box then you don't get the option to add the picture.

Thanks for that.
It was also because I use the mobile version on my phone and the desktop version on my tablet, which has more options🙄

Looks as if it will solder Bobby. I think I'd be inclined separate the cable first, unless there is plenty of slack in the loom. The joint area looks quite big so I suspect you may need a more powerful soldering iron than the one I linked to above. If you have any auto electricians locally it would be worth paying them a visit. Easy job for them.

And would say it is important to use the right power of soldering iron - too small and I think you could end up lifting an area without actually making the connection - one to hand over to a chappy with the right tool.

That's the first stuff that I found when researching the options, but it has mixed reviews, seems to work for some people and not others.
I think I'll give it a go, as it's not that expensive.

Thing is Bobby, if you happen to be one of the unsuccessful users, will the 'stuff' then prevent an attempt at soldering? Still think I'd get an opinion from an auto electrician first.

Yep, of course you are right, there's a garage in the village, might send my daughter in with it and she can plead, "I'm a struggling student" can you help me 😁

Be careful getting too much localised heat on that connector or you’ll be getting a new screen. It would save all the hassle of fixing wires when a new one goes in!
