I've only had 3 cars over the years that I just didn't like. Well, that's not quite true I liked them, but that's all. They were fine.
A 981 (boxster) S was one of them. So the Germans can take their 10% and fcuk off!!
^^^list above has plenty of great alternatives. Aero 8 for me please.

So, semi-seriously, here's a question ... if I place an order for a car 'today' and pay a deposit, isn't the price of the car fixed at that point? Can the manufacturer or dealer decide 'arbitrarily' to increase the price between order and delivery? And if they can and do, can I not simply ask for the return of my deposit and walk away?

It depends upon the T&C's of your contract with the dealer whether the deposit is refundable or not. If there is a delay in delivery of the new car then the dealer can probably increase the price if the manufacturer's list prices have increased during the delay period. Delayed delivery is apparently happening alot recently due to the backlog in getting cars certified under the new EU mpg consumption regime.

all this. Brexit stuff reminds me off the millennium, Computers will crash, no software will be able to cope, planes will be falling out of the sky, millions will be lost on the stock markets and loads of other scaremongering. All these people that started panic buying again and what happened? Nothing the clocks and dates changed without anything happening. Makes me wonder again of it is all scaremongering again. All these contingency plans were put in place and it was just another day at the end of it. Oh and I remember the 8 page pullout from the government that was in many of the newspapers of what to do 🙄🙄🙄🙄

I guess that the issue was "over-hyped" but if it hadn't been the corporate execs probably wouldn't have been scared enough to prepare ... ... but just imagine the panic if we had social media back then!

A lot of wasted money and thank god there wasn’t any social media. Can just imagine cults being set up on Facebook called Armageddon and then you would’ve had the nut jobs causing even more havoc
