My LH headlight is full of condensation. RH is fine. I only bought the car Xmas last year and have a two year warranty. I presume there’s nothing I could do to fix easily or have wrong to cause it! Booked in for my local Toyota garage to have a look this Thursday (6/12/18) Also one bar of the rear screen demist doesn’t work. It clears eventually as the rest work. Presume for that it’s a new rear screen? Again may be covered under warranty so although I wouldn’t bother it may be worth getting done?

Headlight - are the bulbs seated correctly with rubber seals/washers in place? Rear demist - probably a scratched element with conductor continuity broken. If Toyota not helpful you can repair with a conductive paint. Just mask off to match existing line and paint over the break. Remove masking before paint dries. I noticed that I have what appears to be a scuffed section on mine but haven't had time to check if it is affecting full operation. If it is I will take my own advice above.

Same as Davrav, Dave min.......have you or have headlight bulb been upgraded at some time.....? If not seated correctly, remove and dry with hairdryer, but if booked in, leave alonexat let Mr. T. sortificate it.

If the headlight is covered by the warranty I suspect they won't give it a 2nd look, they'll claim a new unit & fitting on the warranty nice little earner for them

They changed the light, just a sit and wait while it got authorised! They wouldn’t do the rear as they said they found a “scratch” on the element so it’s “damaged” which the warranty won’t cover. I’m sure it was like that before I bought it tbh. However Checking the light last night (for operation and any further issues) I noticed the bumper want actually attached (missing fixings) to the wing!! I also noticed a small patch of mist inside the light again. Surely the new one can’t have the same issue!!?! It’s booked back in but they can’t do it till Friday (with a courtesy car).

Utter and absolute PISH service, really........take it from somebody crucified by Blue Chip companies when a 20p corrugated box went wrong.........WHY TF CAN'T THESE PEOPLE JUST FIX CARS FIRST TIME......?
Reminds me of time wife's 2004 car was in three years ago at Arnie.....they required to remove wheel arch liner.........wish I had photographed the arch liner when I collected the bliddy thing........part was all but rubbing on the tyre.....!!
Dave........check bulb aim.......is it plane spotting in either dip or full beam.....? Bulb or BOTH bulbs not seated, so condensation.......AGAIN...........SPHINCTI......,!!

I have “clicked” the arch back into the bumper. The bumper has a hook at the top and a bracket at the bottom. Seems quite secure now, just a fixing missing. I can only think they didn’t even click it back together?! The inner glass misted again last night so not just a one off. Thank BK, checked the bulbs and they’re all seated correctly (unfortunately?!)
The glass was misted slightly again this morning, so I warmed the outside and it clears. NB other side doesn’t do it, so it’s not right!)
Last time the car was in (for a service) they broke the plastic surround the bonnet support sits into! They reluctantly posted me a replacement (easier to fit myself rather than go into town again) then tried to charge me for it!!

One last wee check, Dave.......the sidelight bulb is a pretty naff fit at best of times......has the bulb holder slipped back, causing said condensificationment......?

I did check all the holders. Anyway, kicked up a fuss yesterday about waiting till Friday so they came and collected the car today from wife’s work. They secured the wing/bumper and checked the light. Despite me sending lots of pictures of it misted up they replied by email;
“ I have been asked to inspect your vehicle in reference to the recent headlamp replacement & your concern with the appearance of moisture. From my inspection I would like to add that the inside lens of the headlights may fog temporarily when the vehicle is driven in the rain or left overnight in cold conditions. This fogging is more noticeable for clear lens headlights because of the increased adoption of multi reflective type headlights. There are two main causes for this fogging condition, dew condensation and water entry. In most cases the cause of this phenomenon is from dew condensation. This fogging from dew condensation is not caused by a parts failure. (Dew condensation) If the lens surface is cooled by rain or cold air, moisture in the air inside of the headlight condenses on the inside lens surface resulting in a foggy appearance. This is the same phenomena as window glass fogging during rainy weather or the dew that is formed on the outside of a glass with a cold drink in it. The moisture/fogging will disappear after having the headlights on for ten minutes or one hour depending on the outside ambient temperature & weather conditions. Your previous headlight was replaced due to water ingress build up it may have been due to the headlight vent becoming blocked over time & not allowing sufficient venting. To summarise the headlight is functioning normally & we have no concerns with the appearance at this time. I also been asked to mention that the required retaining clips for the front bumper cover have now been replaced & that the vehicle has been washed in readiness to be returned to your wife this afternoon”
I replied- in that case why isn’t the other light doing it?
Wife is well pleased with car cleaned inside and out though!!

The old "Skoda syndrome". Better car than you'd think. Our daughter had a Sandero couple of years back; got T-boned by a Mini. Mini came off worst......

Does have an air of BS about it. I’ve told them it’s not normal and I’ll be back if it carries on or worsens. I’ll probably wait till the car’s dirty and get another free clean out of it!
