As you guys likely know we live very rural. Most of the trailers on the roads out here hardly ever have matched number plates to the cars pulling them. A lot don’t have properly functioning lights either. The police must turn a blind eye or they wouldn’t do it.

It’s much easier investigating “hate” crimes or looking after Just Stop Oil protestors.

You wish! no, if you turn the electrics of the door off, you can only operate it with great resistance, not as if the motorised struts are not there - good only for emergencies, not day to day operation - unfortunately.

I know what you mean. I turned the door off using the switch in the glovebox and opened the door manually. It wasn’t what I’d call hard or difficult to do but you have to go slowly. Closing the same it’s just a bit slow. But to do the odd one off move of a bulky item like the freezer it’s just fine. I don’t think I’d turn it off permanently. I gave the pivot points and the struts a good oiling while I was having a play… I imagine that might help. Im supposing cars that don’t have the power door option have different struts so maybe that’s the way to get rid of the power door. Not that I want too I don’t. 👍👍👍

Well in a way sometimes I feel a tad sorry for the ordinary cops. To save themselves from aggravation from their superiors as well as tons of paperwork.Over here it's common to see vehicles with only one headlight working, vehicles parked on the side of the road with registration ( UK tax discs ) and W.O.F. ( UK MOT ) stickers years out of date. Now you might think that that is bad enough and also it means no Insurance? Well vehicle Insurance is not required believe it or not. However speeding limits are enforced and on Public Holidays the tolerance is a max of 4 Kph over the limit ( UK 2.5 MPH ) even in a 110Kph area

Automatic policing, the cops don’t have to get involved; more time to dance the Macarena or take selfies with passing celebs.😡
