French GP had some action and over taking ..plus the odd silly mistake 🫣🫣 I’ll so no more until it’s been watched by everyone on CH4 or catch up👍🏻

Excellent race. Some rather dubious tactics from one team mind…. 👍👍👍

Excellent race. Some rather dubious tactics from one team mind…. 👍👍👍 plucking defeat from the jaws of victory, as they say.

Shame about how the race ended, although I don’t think it would have changed the result, they realy do have to sort out how the speed up decisions.
One thing I will say, is that i was amazed how quiet the stadium went during the minutes silence, usualy you get a certain amount of background noise during something like that.

The result was unlikely to change if the safety car wasn’t deployed though surely ? The winner had something like a 17 second lead when the safety car was deployed. So other than a big mistake or a mechanical issue the winner would have still won by quite a margin.

It was a disappointing end .. Some said on Channel 4 that the race should have been red flagged presumably hoping for a restart but as far as I’m aware the race had gone sufficient distance to declare a result. Not a great way to end what was a fairly mundane race but I guess they had to safely remove the failed car.

I would have thought after the cock-up that was last years finale, they would have sorted out how to deal with track clearances near the end of a race. No one wants to see a pointless procession behind a safety car at the race end, so why they don't throw the red flag automatically instead of a safety car if an incident occurs within say 10% of the race end, to then give time to clear the track and restart the race and actually have a racing finish? If a race is red-flagged after 75% distance and NOT restarted, it is counted as a full race, but there is no rule to say a race cannot be restarted even with just one lap to go. The only rule about restarting is a race cannot run over 4 hours from when it actually started. What they also should do I reckon is still allow tyre changes in Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car periods, but hold a pitting car in its box for the amount of time that it is reckoned is saved by pitting, to neutralise the benefit. Too much of a lottery otherwise I think and it can promote bad behaviour! (I bet every time Alonso goes to Singapore he is asked by people if he deserved that Trophy ) And tyre changes in a red flag period? ban them. If their tyres are that bad they need changing they should have pitted before hand, or can pit either after the restart, or change during the red flag and go to the back on the restart lap, same as if they decide to change tyres during the procession lap at the start (like that time where the whole field bar the pole-sitter came in in that race where the weather changed between qualifying and race and they started from the pit lane).
