Having just looked at Bob's photos of his XTR with the tinted rear windows, I'm pondering as to whether I should get mine done in a lightish shade ? I do like the look but also think it would be beneficial security wise to make it harder for prying eyes to see what's in the boot ? Just wondering if anyone has had experience of professional window tinting companies ? Thanks..🙂

There's a lot of them around. I used one for our First LC and was pleased with the result. Trawl the Web for a Good one in your area. :TU:

What I would suggest is get an idea of the films before you plump for a specific one. You may be surprised just how much light an apparently dark film lets in. To give you an example, this picture shows from left to right.... An open window (so natural light of course); then an 80% or 90% limo tint over factory-tint (the % number is the amount of light blocked - so 90% tint lets 10% light in; and then the tinted window slid over another tinted window .... Our wheelchair Renault Master has limo tint and is dark, only real issue Is reverse at night if looking out the back and not using the mirrors.

I used to run my own part time tinting company from my garage at the rear of the house. All above board with the taxman etc.
I just done it part time in the evenings and at weekends.
As long as you use a reputable well established company. Preferably a company that just does tinting and not towbars, servicing, car alarms etc etc.
You'll pay a bit more and stay away from the ones that do mobile tinting. I found it hard enough to do a good job in my spotlessly cleaned prepared garage.
Some insurance companies may invalidate your insurance, so be wary of this. Also stay within the law and just tint from the B pillar backwards.

I used Pentagon to do my rav. Still perfect 7 years later.
Went for a light tint. TBH would go medium next time.
Was going to get the Yaris done but with all this Covid going on don't really want anyone crawling all over my car right now.
