Ours is a 2007 D4D XT5, with 132K, had it for 7 years, only issues we'd had are rear drop links, alternator, fuel filler neck & a damaged drivers seat swab, then pads & discs.

Thanks guys. Helpful. I now remember the engine issue..how time flies!! 1 owner and being sold from I guess trade-in to the Howards group who I assume wouldn't try to sell due to mileage....or ?? Risk I guess one takes with auctions.

On the pic of the dashboard of the car, it shows the mileage etc and that the door is open......and there is a yellow triangle with an excalmation mark lit up on the rev gauge. I'm probably daft; but is it lit as the door is open, or is it showing a fauly? The pic shows the engine is ticking over at about 900rpm.
? reason?

Mine is very similar to Phaetons - 2008, XT5, 94k miles. I also have done the rear drop (Q?) links and had the filler pipe replaced along with pads and discs. Toyota replaced the front seat covers when they split on the sides and also replaced the engine at 32K because of excessive oil consumption. The rear handbrake cables had to be replaced, but that was an easyish job that I did myself. I came unstuck with the MOT earlier in the year when it failed on emmissions. Problem cured with "an italian de-coke" and it sailed through then.

Sadly that’s becoming all too common 😠

I suspect I missed a bargain! Will keep an eye on auctions now!! Be very careful though as you do hear horror stories about wrecks tarted up just to look good
for the auction but within hours they start falling apart and so beyond economic repair.

Just to answer this, the warning triangle is a warning to say there is a warning, bloody annoying, in the display depending on model it will tell you the warning, so if like our XT5 if you run the fuel down, you get a warning light to tell you that you are low on fuel, the LCD display takes everything else out & tells you that you have low fuel & the orange triangle come son to tell you t look at the other warning messages that you can't miss. Again on the XT5 if you open a door, it shows you picture of which door, tells you which door in text & then puts the warning triangle on, it's almost like they were designing it for the Merkin market.
