Nice work , Bob. I realise that silver is stock but you could really make it stand out with red. It would match the suspension bracing strut nicely.👍 I did think about crinkle finish in black or red but had the silver in stock, and it’s looks better than it did before 👍🏻 Dave….as to the heat shield, I will have a better go at polishing it at some point. If I can get the bolts off, I can set about it with a machine polisher 😎

Many thanks guys 👍🏻👍🏻 Rather out of season now for anymore jobs, vehicle lives outside so needs to be warm and sunny before I get my spanner’s out again 😉
Jobs next spring.. Fit front Alpine door speakers and separate tweeters. On the outcome of that may also do rear speakers . If I do rear speakers that’s an interior rear strip out. with all the trim out I would like to add those silver sound deadening pads to floor, arches and any area I can reach.
Want to have a go at polishing exhaust heat shield but will need to come off to do the best job. Then it’s keeping the underseal topped up on chassis and suspension. Don’t need to any of these jobs but it keep my motoring interest alive 😎😎

When rear panelling out for speaker replacement, good time for reversey beep beep fitment, Boab, if not already fitted. Colour coded Kingo wans quite reasonable.

Yes I’ve seen a few 1/4 bumpers crushed in. I have the original paper template from the Toyota accessory site, so can get them in the correct position.

Over the last few months I’ve been hunting down a chrome rear step, as no longer sold by Toyota . What’s made it more tricky is people that take them off to fit a towbar , don’t then include the mounting brackets when they sell them used ☹️ I bought the step first, then tracked down a used towbar with all the necessary brackets and bolts. As usual with me…..I’ve painted all the parts to go on the car and today I fitted it 😎 Can you guess what arrived in the post !! And the tow ball was removable 🤪
