I would have thought that if you keep them in the house until after you’ve removed the old ones, then the new ones will be fitted before they cool down enough to be at any risk. 👍😊

Fortunately though Mrs P doesn't do much night time driving now but we did notice how dull they were the other week

Shiny, shiny Paul. I won't ask what you paid for them but I have a brand new pair of 4.3 headlights still in their Toyota boxes somewhere in my garage that I picked up for £15 each way back when. I suspect that, had I not had the originals coated with Ventureshield, those spare ones would have been on the car some time ago. So has the Ventureshield kept your lights from Yellowing David or are they glass lights on the 4.3?

I could be wrong but AFAIR, Paul, on my Granite, the black finishers on the rock bars definitely pointed outwards.

Just so long as you don't tell anyone no one will ever know ... I certainly don't ... As a "style accessory" they probably look better with the end caps pointing out. But they serve no useful purpose that way - you can't stand on them and they stand more chance of getting caught and ripped off if they point outwards. Pointing in they are tucked out of the way and safer from harm ... Edit: and while drinking my coffee I searched the web for pictures of 3drs with side bars and the only example I can find with the end caps on the wrong way around is that one example ... There's a picture of a Granite here with the end caps pointing inward: media.toyota.co.uk/toyota-rav4-rocks-with-new-granite-special-edition/I'm just sad I know ...

The car is now 14.5 years old and has always been parked outside facing south when in front of the house.
