Takes me back 😎 Austin 1800 Hilman Hunter Vauxhall victor Austin Cambridge Ford Cortina mk1 Ford Cortina mk3 Renault 16 Vauxhall viva HA BMW 1602 MG Midget Ford Cortina mk2 Morris Lorry Triumph Vitesse 1600 Morris 1800 out of interest why a 1600 vitesse rather than the 2l, i thought the only difference was that the front crossmember was thinner so they could get the 2l block in?

Yup,I am a Viva Anorak I wonder if officially the current Vauxhall Viva is an HD? I learnt to drive in, if I remember correctly, an HC. Anyway it was the first one with an attempt at streamlining! Interesting to note that there is no Mini in that queue of traffic. There must have still been 1000's of them about then. No Triumph Spitfire either ( I was a Midget man myself by the time the photo was taken )

On reflection it might be a 2lt but it had the same grill as the 1.6lt, it was a flat pressed aluminium grill,it was the mk2 2lt that had a different grill. The 1.6 and 2lt had a 6 cylinder engine and as far as I know shared the same chassis along with the 1200/1300 4 cylinder model .
