Hi, new member to the site with a couple of questions.... I've got a 1995 (N) 3 door and ever since I've had it its had this really annoying hesitation, it starts around 2000rpm up to about 3000rpm, now the work done Replaced plugs, leads, cap, rotor arm, coil, fuel filter, checked timing. Stripped and cleaned throttle body, checked map ( stalls engine) Checked all vacuum pipes and anything else for leaks using good old carb cleaner sprayed everywhere while running and it's still there... No flash codes, no engine light..... am I missing something or anything else to check Also I need an indicator switch ( my high beam works intermittently) but for some reason my one is on the right of the column where all others are on the left ? And has different wiring, is there another model of Toyota that may fit ? Sorry for the rambling but it's doing my head in now...?

Looks like you have just about covered all the possibility with the hesitation, was going to say a semi blocked exhaust or catalyst but that would show up with top end performance, if it does have a cat on it maybe the Lamba sensor is faulty . With the indicator switch I had a quick scout around eBay and the real early RAV4’s 1995/96 had the indicators on the right, then after that day they seem to change to the other side ☹️, could you be really carful and strip the switch down and clean the contacts ?

As far as the indicator switch, the UK always used to have the indicator switch on the right and becouse japan also drives on the left and as the UK had some influence in the early car manufacturing in Japan, for example i believe that the datsun cherry was built on an old mini production line sold to Japan, they also had the indicator on the right. The UK market changed to having the indicator on the left to align with the European manufacturers and the Japanese manufacturers followed for the European Market (probably late 90s) but any Japanese grey import will still have the indicator on the right, this is probably why the availability of both is confusing. Anyway this is how i understand it.
