I've got a minor problem. Have any of you good folks ever replaced the sidelight bulb at the front of a 4.2? As far as I can see you need tiny double-jointed hands and fingers to get in to the bulb holder which is mounted on the outer side of the lamp unit. Even removing the two top mounting screws doesn't allow the lamp housing to move enough to give any clearance. The handbook shows it as being a straight forward, two minute job but so far it is anything but. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 🙏

Side light bulbs are replaced by pulling part of the wing liner out and squeezing your hand in the gap.....that’s the facelift 2003 onwards 👍🏻

Absolutely MUST warm up that arch liner somehow before trying to move the wee effer in winter, Jim......it was made by Wilkinson Sword, and short of chain mail gloves, will fight ye all the way......! Whilst there and very accessible with wheel arch oot the way, replace fog lamp bulb.......you know it makes sense.......lol.

Cut ma hauns tae ribbons......! Well, after 18 years and six RAVs that's the first really stupid piece of design I have come across. I thought only Renault produced cars that had to be dis-assembled to change light bulbs!!

Buy some GOOD LED sidelight bulbs as well as replacing the foggies whilst in there, Jim........LEDs still going strong in wife’s after years, are much brichter akin to DRLs, and SHOULD last longer than incandescent wans.

I don't actually need to replace any of the bulbs. It's just that I was given a set of Ring DRLs for Xmas and they have a dimmer feature that requires connection to the + side of the sidelight. Because it was a gift I can't really just leave it but I think I will need to find a more convenient source for the dimmer link.
