I think I might buy the FZ200 or FZ330, but not sure which one to go for! As far as I can see , same camera spec , just weather/dust proof, and a lot more money. I would be tempted though I am watching some comparison reviews on You Tube. They both have the same lens and sensor but I am tempted by the FZ330.

I have this on my phone (link below), to save carrying a book about. Maybe not quite as comprehensive as a good book, but pretty darn useful. The other useful thing is that it has audio samples of birdsong and bird calls for nearly all the birds. Birdsong is a very useful additional tool for identification and also alerting you that something is about, long before you see it. Over time you get to learn some of the calls or you can use the phone to compare, if you're not quite sure. It's useful to me, because I'm not a regular enough birder for the calls to stick in my head that quickly. Other apps are available. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coolideas.eproducts.rspbbirdsofbritain&hl=en_GB

I am still struggling with which camera - part of the trouble is I want something phone size but better! Phone cameras are hard to beat for convenience!

So, what is this one? Just out of interest... it was quite noisy, mostly in 'rest hours' (very early morning...)

Looks like a Goldfinch but I'm looking at this on 'night screen' or whatever so the colours are a bit 'off'

It looks like a somewhat care-worn house sparrow to me ...

It looks like a somewhat care-worn house sparrow to me ... I did say my colours are 'off'. Just looked on a 'normal' screen and have to concur.

Male Spanish Sparrow. Otherwise known as a Willow Sparrow.
Edit....just beaten to it, by the look of it. :TU:
